When the Stars Fell

Before the Pillars of Resurrection fell, beings of Elves once resided there. They we re commonly referred to as Starchildren. The Pillars were home to many beings who had coalesced from all. They were huge and massive, but in growing sentience, wanted to know more. See more. Feel more. Sparks of life had ignited their curiosity, their spirit and slowly they began to condense themselves down into smaller, more manageable shapes.
These beings lived within the Nebula for quite sometime. It was where they had evolved and where they began to evolve the world around them. The Starlings and Starfallen knew it as the Star Queen Nebula which housed many Pillars. Theirs specifically was known as the Pillars of Resurrection.
These beings helped ferry lost souls, reborn souls, and any soul in need to find a way. In doing this, they had to map the cosmos to different worlds.
This is where Dione Moonshine comes in. She created the Starlings.
In her quest to make traveling easier than her star ship, Dione used her star powers to create mystical animals. Most know them as Hybrids, but she called them Saberge, as they were born from celestial eggs. The Saberge weren't just familiars, they were also beings that could change into a single magical item that is connected to the Starling by a magic crystal or stone. These creatures would reside within the stones when the Starling used their weapons or wings, but when not in use, the familiars would walk along beside the Starling. These hybrid creatures ran in all types: horse + fish, Bear + cat, Cat + Rabbit, etc. Dione was able to do this because of her power that was attached to her Constellation as she was ranked a Stargeant. When giving a Starchild Starling status, Dione worked with the Nightgazers to determine their classification. Some would represent whole Constellations while others would represent a single star within or around that constellation.
Starlings would regularly work in conjunction with the Nightgazers. These elves would use their starstone to see and find the invisible lines that made up constellations. They would then give this information to the Starling so they could set out and map this constellation and connect it officially. They would then pass on this information of them
The mobile force was made up of elves that came in all shapes, sizes and genders based on what their own preference was. These vessels they had designed were smaller and quicker than their larger than life selves as Starchildren. In order to take up less space, they reduced their gigantic sizes, and that power is now condensed within their elven body allowing them to reincarnate making them immortal. And so the Legacy of the Starling could live on...
However, The only down side to this, is that if Stars do go Supernova, the Starlings will lose their powers. They will reincarnate to the closest system, and integrate into a world with living beings as a new being themselves and no memories of their past life. However, there are some cases where they can take on another star. It is rare as the magic of the last star can still leave remnants behind, and the magic of the new star may not always accept it, or vice versa.
Other points of interest:
-There are so many constellations through out the cosmos, that there are some named the same as others.
- Starlings that represent one star, can eventually become a Stargeant after so many years of ferrying souls to the Pillars of Resurrection and then a test of fortitude, strength, will and ability to map out the stars.
- regular Starlings see them as their commander and will report to them directly as they are usually stationary at the Pillars.
- There is no ruler here, but an expansive archive of the constellation and stars as well as information on civilizations and people that they come across that reside within their constellation. There's also extensive Starmaps on display for any Starling to reference.
- When a star supernova's, the Starling representing it will lose their abilities and sometimes reincarnate onto a world where their star resided, or rarely, can take on another star. (it's sometimes impossible due to the nature of the magic they need to take on from it.)
-If a star within a constellation, supernovas, a Stargeant will change their colors to represent that star as if in mourning. Sometimes they will remain this color, or they will swap back to their original after a certain period of time.
- Some Starlings and Stargeant class Starlings, will take on characteristics of the star that they represent.
-Even though the Pillars of Resurrection eventually fell, some of the Starlings would eventually go to the Phoenix nebula, and begin to rebuild as souls were stuck as ghosts on their worlds now.
